My name is David McMurdo. I was born in a small town called Thurso in the Highlands of Scotland on the 3rd of October, 1984. I was raised in Thurso and then moved away for a short time when I was eighteen. The next few years of my life were a cycle of that: moving somewhere for some reason, and then returning to my home town once again. I’ve travelled a fair bit and visited several different countries outside of the United Kingdom.
Although I was raised in a secular family and community, I’ve believed in God for as long as I can remember, but that belief has taken many different forms throughout my life. I rejected Christianity in my teenage years for the same reason that a lot of people do: a lack of understanding of it due to inadequate preaching. I explored many different spiritual paths and examined even more. At its lowest my belief in God was a kind of deism at which point I was living like an atheist for all intents and purposes with no doctrine and no direction.
At some point in June or July of 2012 I had my born again experience and was drawn irresistibly towards Christianity. Since then I have devoted almost all of my time to studying theology, and discussing and writing about subjects relevant to Christianity.
